Walter Ricciardi

The Andrija Stampar Summer Educational & Tutoring School is proud to announce that Professor Walter Ricciardi will be one of the core faculty members of the 2019 edition.

Professor Walter Ricciardi started his career with a degree in medicine in 1986 and a doctorate in public health medicine in 1990 from the University of Naples.
He is the President elect of the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) and Head of Department of Woman and Child Health and Public Health of Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS - Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome. In addition, he holds positions as Editor of the European Journal of Public Health, the Oxford Handbook of Public Health Practice and is a Founding Editor of the Italian Journal of Public Health and of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Public Health.
Professor Ricciardi was the President of the Italian National Institute of Health (Istituto Superiore di Sanità), where he was Commissioner from July 2014 to July 2015. He is the current Italian Representative in the Executive Board of WHO and holds a mandate as Member of the Expert Panel on effective ways of investing in Health for the European Commission (DG Sante).
